How do I get into my account if I forgot my PIN?

If you don’t remember your PIN, all you need to do is reset it. You can do it yourself or ask the library for help, whichever you prefer.

How do I reset my PIN myself?

  1. Go to the library’s catalog.
  2. Click on “My Account” at the very top of the page.
  3. Click “Forgot my PIN” and enter your library card number.
  4. Open the email attached to your library account, and look for an email from the library. If you don’t see it in your inbox, try checking your spam folder. (If you can’t find the email after a while, you may need to call the library to get help.)
  5. Once you get the link, click on it, then follow the instructions to set up a new PIN.

How can I get a staff member to reset my PIN?

First, make sure you have your library card number. Then, stop by the library’s front desk, or give us a call at (262) 636-9241. (If you prefer, you can also reset your PIN by visiting or calling our Bookmobile.) Just let us know what you want your new PIN to be, and we’ll change it for you.

Where do I find my PIN?

If you need to find your PIN, a staff member can tell you your pin. Feel free to stop by the library or give us a call. Just make sure you have your library card — we’ll need it to verify which account to check.

What is a PIN?

PIN stands for “personal identification number.” It’s basically a short password that you use along with your library card number to log into different library services. Your PIN is your key to borrowing items, using digital platforms like hoopla and Wisconsin’s Digital Library (or its app, Libby), accessing your library account online and more.

How do I get a PIN?

If you have a library card, you have a PIN! If you don’t have a library card, you’ll choose your PIN when you first sign up for your card. PINs must be four digits, and you should try to pick one that’s easy for you to remember but not easy for other people to guess. If you think you might forget it, make sure to save your PIN number somewhere private.
