About the Racine Public Library

Building literacy since 1897.

Welcome to Racine Public Library

The Racine Public Library has been a part of the Racine community for 125 years, and counting. Since 1897, we have grown from a single reading room in a downtown building to a two-story community gathering place that services the Racine community east of Interstate 94. In addition to our building, we also have a Bookmobile and a pair of book bikes that stop throughout the community, as well as outreach libraries and a home delivery service.

Currently, our collection includes not only books but DVDs, CDs, magazines, and video games. You can also check out our Beyond Books Collection that is a collection of tech and other hands-on learning devices.

Patrons also have access to Wisconsin’s Digital Library, which gives you access to ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines that are available to download.

As our community continues to grow and flourish, we look forward to serving you for years to come.
