Parking closest to the library (along Lake Avenue and in the lake-side parking lots) is metered, so please bring coins or download Racine’s parking app to your smartphone in preparation for your visit. You can pay in your preferred increment along Lake Avenue and at the lot closest to the library along the lake. The second nearest parking lot to the library costs $4 a day, and payment can be made through the city’s parking app.
Please stop into the library’s business office if you will need a visitor parking pass for your stay. If you’re up for a walk, parking along Lake Avenue is free once you get to the intersection of Lake and 9th.

Schedule Change 8/17
The schedules for the remainder of the summer and the beginning of fall 2026 are posted below.
Beginning Mon, Aug. 17, familiar Bookmobile stops are returning to the rotation on the following days:
- Mondays, 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Tuesdays, 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
In addition, the Friday stop at Pick N Save will be expanding its hours to 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Please note a new address for the Tuesday morning Red Apple Elementary stop. This stop has moved to the school’s new location at 1012 Center Street.

Older Bookmobile Updates
Techmobile Fills in for Bookmobile 8/10-8/14
From Monday, Aug. 10 through Friday, Aug. 14, the Techmobile will be replacing the Bookmobile for its scheduled stops for planned maintenance.
During this time period, we will be offering hold pickup and reference and account services only.
We will post updates here if the timing changes.
Bookmobile Roles Being Filled
The Racine Public Library is happy to announce the recent onboarding of a new full-time Bookmobile Assistant: Heather Saunders, promoted from her previous role as a part-time Bookmobile Driver.
Meanwhile, applications are opening soon for a full-time Bookmobile and Outreach Librarian. Be sure to watch RacineLibrary.info/jobs for the job posting when it’s live. Once this position is filled, further revisions to the Bookmobile schedule will be possible.
June 15 update
Effective June 22, Thursday’s and Friday’s stops will be swapping: The Bookmobile will be at Shorecrest on Thursdays and at Pick ‘N’ Save on Fridays. This change is in response to patron feedback.
May 26 update
Effective Thursday, May 28, Thursday and Friday stops are returning to the Bookmobile schedule.

Thank you, Corey and Sabrina! Our Bookmobile Supervisor (Corey) is retiring, and our Bookmobile Assistant (Sabrina) is leaving for other opportunities. We thank them both for their years of dedication to the community and the Bookmobile.
While we hire new teammates, the Bookmobile will be on a limited schedule. We plan to revisit this schedule at the end of June. To see our most up-to-date version of the schedule, keep an eye on this page.
