For Teens
Our clubhouse of books, programs and library resources for 13-18-year-olds Find Teen ProgramsTeenScene: A clubhouse just for teens
TeenScene is the section of the Racine Public Library designed just for teens. You can find the entrance by the second-floor, Lake Avenue entrance, tucked inside the Young Adult book nook. The majority of our teen and young adult activities take place here.
For our sensory room or the books we call our "teen collection" (for slightly younger teens), visit the Youth Services area on the first floor of the library.
TeenScene Open Hours
Tuesdays through Thursdays
1-6 p.m.
Schedule changes: Any changes from TeenScene's posted schedule will be posted on its door and to RacineLibrary.info/hours-locations.
Stop in anytime during our open hours, or join us for any of our programs to check out the space.
TeenScene Rules of Use
- Weird is cool. Wild is not.
This isn't a gym, a wrestling ring, or a parkour course. This is a library, so keep it chill. - Respect the room.
Leave it looking at least as good as the way you found it, and go easy on the library's stuff. - Keep it PG-13.
That goes for language and behavior. You're not little kids, but this is a shared space. - Don't be a jerk.
It's that simple. If it's not working, you might need to leave for the day. Eat, sleep, and come back and try again. We'll see you then!

Teen Programs
What is TeenScene for?
TeenScene is a space for you to be yourself and become yourself. No adults are allowed (with the exception of library staff), so you're free to use the space your way and even suggest ideas for it.
Things you can do in TeenScene include:
- Do homework or work on projects
- Use our computers — we have four Windows laptops and a Mac desktop
- Do arts and crafts — we have polymer clay, painting supplies, coloring tools, diamond dot art kits and more
- Hang out with friends (or make some new ones)
- Play video games — we have an Xbox S Series, a Nintendo Switch, a Wii and an Infinity Game Table
- Grab a book from the YA nook to read
- Perform karaoke
Of course, how you use it is up to you. It's your space, so come on in.
The YALL (Young Adult Library Leaders) Initiative
YALL is an initiative through which the library fosters leadership in teen volunteers, who gain community service hours, volunteer experience and leadership skills during their time with the library. YALL projects focus on things like running programs, making social media posts, creating book displays and recommendation lists, designing flyers and graphics, and giving input on the library's work.
