Get a Library Card
How do I get a Library Card?
Apply Online.
- You can sign up online for your library card that will allow you to place holds you can pick up on your next visit.
- You will not be able to check items out or use other library services until you stop in to the library to confirm your address.
- On your next visit, please bring an ID or a piece of mail that has your current address on it.
Visit Racine Public Library
- You’ll need to bring proper identification with your current address (like a driver’s license, piece of recent mail, etc.) on your first visit to the library.
- There are no age restrictions on new library cards, but applicants under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian sign the application
- There is no charge for a library card, although a $1 fee will be assessed to replace a lost card.
Cards for Milwaukee County and non-Wisconsin residents
For $50 a year, residents of Milwaukee County and of states other than Wisconsin can still sign up for a Racine Public Library card.
We will waive the fee if you teach Racine students. Just bring in proof of your employment to sign up for no cost.
