Summer Reading Program

2018 Summer Reading Program
Sponsored by the Friends of the Racine Public Library, Inc.

Kids (Birth – 5th Grade)
June 4 – July 28, 2018

  1. Pick up your reading record at the Youth Services Desk, the Mobile Library or you can download it. Para español, haga clic aquí.
  2. Read or be read to for 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours. Bring your reading record in every two hours read and pick out a coupon prize.
  3. Read or be read to for 10 hours and receive a finishing prize.  You can do the program multiple times, but only one finishing prize will be awarded.

Teens (Grades 6 – 12)
June 18 – August 9, 2018

  1. Read or listen to a book.
  2. Write a review. You can pick up your review sheet beginning on June 18th at the Adult Services Desk or the Bookmobile, or download it from our website.
  3. Place your review in the box for the prize basket you wish to be entered in to win. Only completed forms will be considered for the prizes.
  4. Begin again. There is no limit to the number of books that you can write a review for.

Two basket winners will be drawn on August 10 at the Middle School Glow Dance.
Three basket winners will be drawn on August 17 at the High School Zombie Prom.

In-person registration is required for both the teen dances.

Adults (18+)

Prizes will be drawn at the Dance Through Decades on August 24, 2018.
Adults can register for the dance online.

Cinematic Madness
Help us a choose a winner! We are doing a March Madness-style program that will determine the winner of the best soundtrack or musical.  The competitors were selected randomly so some of them might seem a little odd. If you’d like to vote you can go to this link https://goo.gl/forms/y4Qe4PehDOMrTlHJ2 and vote until Sunday night. Round 4 voting will begin on July 9th!

Book-Spine Lyrics
Create song lyrics using the spines of books! Submit your entry online.  Submissions will be shared on Facebook.
