At the Innovation Lab, all you need is an idea — and a 3D print file — to make objects from thin air. Here, you don’t need to buy something to meet your needs or enjoy yourself. Instead, use our 3D printers to make your own novelty toys, hard-to-find replacement parts, free alternatives to expensive household items, or anything else you could need or imagine.

What is 3D printing?
3D printing lets you make plastic, three-dimensional objects from digital files. You pick out a file of an item you want, and the printer creates your object out of a heated plastic thread called “filament.”
What can I make on a 3D printer?
Anything you have a 3D printer file for! You can either design a 3D object yourself or pick one out.

What materials can my prints be?
Our plastic filaments come in a variety of colors, patterns, finishes and flexibilities. Our supplies change as we use, test and replace different filaments, so let us know if you have any preferences when you send your file.
How does the library's 3D printing service work?
We can either help you do it yourself or make the 3D print for you! This service is free and available to community members of all ages. You do not need a library card. (However, getting a library card is free to locals and comes with great perks.)

Stop by during one of the Innovation Lab’s open sessions or classes. We’ll show you how to make your own file, set up your filament colors, send the file to the printer and make sure it comes out the way you want.
Want us to print for you?
- Fill out our form to give us the details on what you want to print.
- We’ll load up your file as staff availability allows. Usually, we can print your object within a few days.
- We’ll email you when the print is ready, and you can come to the library during its open hours to pick your item up.

3D Printing Policies
- We can print one item per person, per week.
- Prints must take 3 hours or less. If your object can’t print in that time limit, we may shrink or simplify it to fit.
- We won’t print any NSFW objects or weapons.
- We won’t print anything for visitors to sell.
