Friends of the Library Help to Provide:

~ Large print books

~ Microflim Readers

~ Computer Equipment

~ Document deacidfication and preservation projects thus saving historic documents for future generations

~ Funds for children's story times

~ Funds for programming in the Youth Services Department

~ Books on CD for Adult Services

~ DVDs for both Adult and Youth Services

~ Funds to upgrade the music collection to CD format

~ Englarging machine for the visually impaired

Friends of the Library Sponsor:

~ the Annual Breakfast with the Authors

~ Semi-annual book sales

~ the on-going book sale in the library lobby

~ various programs throughout the year for children and adults

~ The English Festival

~ Children's story times

~ Battle of the Books

~ Book collections at area coffee shops

Friends of the Library also:

~  support the library at budget hearings in the city and county by contacting representatives encouraging their support

~ promote adequate funding for library materials and programs

~ distribute library information at community events
