Interlibrary Loan For Community Book Clubs
Since book clubs and discussion groups need many copies of a book, the library usually has to borrow them on interlibrary loan from other libraries. Please check with the Adult Services reference desk about requesting additional copies of books so that they will arrive in time.

If you can provide us with a list of the books you will need for your meetings several months in advance, we have a better chance of obtaining them.

To borrow books for your club members
via interlibrary loan we need to know:

1. The name, address, and telephone number of a contact person.

2. The titles of the books you will want, the number of copies, and the dates you will need them.

3. A list of the participants in the book club with their names, addresses and library card numbers. We cannot borrow multiple copies on one person’s card.

Each participant will receive a notice in the mail when a copy is available. We can also notify you by email if you give us your email address.

In order to check out books borrowed on Interlibrary Loan, you must have a library card, not owe more than $5 in fines, and pick up and return the books within the dates given.

Please allow at least three weeks before you need to start reading a title for us to borrow the books. In some cases we may have difficulty getting the number of copies you need due to the popularity of the book.

Books can be picked up at the Circulation Desk on the first floor.

Because of demand and the multiple copies we have borrowed through interlibrary loan, we can not renew community book club books. The books must be returned by the due date.
